Singing - contemporary style

Music For Everyone offers a Singing Group Class for adults and for youth aged 14 to 17 years. This class is for people who love to sing and would like to develop good vocal skills for singing contemporary style music: jazz, folk, pop and rock.

The class will help you develop your natural voice and provide you with the basics of a good vocal technique that can be used to sing solo and in harmony. The classes run for one hour per week and the class size will be 5-12 students. In a supportive and enjoyable group class format, you will build your skills in the essentials of singing:

  • breathing
  • support
  • pitch
  • rhythm
  • style
  • diction
  • performing

The Singing Group Class will teach warm up routines, breathing and support exercises, show you how to approach learning a new song, and help you develop good pitch, rhythm and performance skills.

Singing - classical style

Music For Everyone also offers individual tuition in classical singing for adults. In this program, you will learn the basics of classical singing technique and build a sound foundation for singing with confidence in a range of musical styles. Students will learn key technical skills in breath control, support of the voice, healthy vocal projection, and how to develop a focused, resonant tone.

Students in group classes can perform at Music For Everyone concerts and take part in other special events.
