Recorder

This program offers group classes for children starting from 7 years. Students learn the basics of instrumental technique, music reading and group performance. This is a fun way to begin learning the recorder and provides a good foundation for further music studies. The classes run for 45 minutes per week and the class size will be 4-8 students.

At Music For Everyone, the recorder is much more than a classroom tool for learning basic music-reading. Students receive expert tuition in playing the recorder, enabling them to develop real proficiency on the instrument. Beginning with the descant recorder, students can progress to play the other main instruments of the recorder family: treble, tenor and bass.

For young children, the descant recorder is an ideal first instrument. Spending 2-3 years in a group recorder class is an excellent first step towards further studies in the recorder or other instruments. Students may also use the skills they have learnt on the recorder to progress to other wind instruments when they are old enough. Most wind instruments, such as flute, clarinet and saxophone, are best started from 9 years.
